This tour explores 3 of North Canterbury’s boutique vineyards. From Christchurch we drive 45 minutes north through the small townships of Woodend and Amberly.
If travelling on a Saturday take in the Amberly Farmer Market 9:00 to 12:30 where you can by crafts, breads, honey and so much more.
Waipara Valley, is known for its warm, dry climate and rich alluvial soils, ideal for superior wine production. Over 40 vineyards the wineries have expanded to cover the rolling hills of the valley, with Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc dominating local plantings. This winery tours from Christchurch includes Waipara Springs (L), Greystone (L), Torlesse, and Pegasus Bay (L). (3 only)
The (L) is the wineries with restaurant, pre bookings are required.
