We were fortunate to engage Mike Halliday for our recent trip to New Zealand. Mike’s charges were reasonable and he was detailed in the emails prior to our arrival at Christchurch. He brought us around the city and fetched us back safely from Arthur’s Pass when we took the TranzAlpine train. We then headed to Mount Cook and Lake Pukaki and stayed overnight in a villa there.

My young adult son and daughter were comfortable with his warmth and personality and the whole family of four even stayed overnight at Pukaki with him for the stargazing! We left for Glenorchy the next morning and en route we enjoyed the various stops like Lake Pearson that he brought us to. Mike had to endure a long day driving us around that day but he does not complain and we appreciate that. If you need someone reliable (Mike is never late) and agreeable you should engage Mike! He will make your trip a pleasant and enjoyable one!

Your journey on the TranzAlpine train to Arthur's Pass and with me picking you up from the station and returning to Christchurch by Mercedes Benz minivan gives you the opportunity to stop at our amazing lakes on the way and of course "Castle Hill" and the mountain scenery.

Mike is a very informative tour guide. We booked in advance for an all-day tour of Christchurch. He picked us up at the cruise terminal.

Yes our tour with your family from Akaroa village to Christchurch city was a great day and I feel with the 8 hours we had we maximised it completely even down to great seafood lunch at Beach Cafe. It's always good to have a family from so far away (the USA) come all this way to enjoy our beautiful country.

As a regular chauffeur user, I can easily say that Mike was amazing and exceeded all expectations.

I had booked Mike to pickup my mother from the airport and take her to her hotel - she loved his friendly personality, and was so excited to get a mini sightseeing tour and commentary included.

Mike then picked me up from the airport the following day - my plane had been delayed by 3 1/2 hours, yet was still there to meet me (without any ill feelings!). Mike took us all back to the airport at the end of our holiday and walked us (and our bags) into the terminal. My mother farewelled him with a hug, just like she was saying good-bye to a family member.

After a succession of cancelled trips and excursions we asked Dr. Google to find us an alternative. Did he do well!

We don't normally travel in a private up-market Mercedes but Mike was instantly engaging and rapport was established.

The weather looked bad for our day trip to Akaroa, but by mid-morning the sun was out. We sampled cheeses at Barry's Bay, had a lovely detour to a little shoreside settlement and we were set for wonderful soup in Akaroa, then a dolphin watching cruise (lots of dolphins but also a great selection of birds including Arctic Skuas/jaegers, shearwaters, spotted and other shags and 1 penguin).

This was bespoke, personalised and responsive touring at its very best! Thanks Mike!

Before our trip began we had booked in advance a private tour with Chauffeur NZ from Queenstown to Christchurch which was the return leg of our ski vacation in NZ. Upon our arrival into Christchurch on the very first day of our trip, our flight to a Queenstown was cancelled at last minute, and the 6 of us were stranded at the airport with a host of bookings for various activities, reservations and commitments at risk. Not knowing what else to do or who to call, I called Mike (owner of Chauffeur NZ) and in less than an hour, he picked us up from the airport and we were on our way to Queenstown. As we had more bags than passengers, there were logistical and administrative hurdles that Mike helped to solve (which he did). Not only did he manage to get us to Queenstown safe and in very good time, he made the journey light hearted (very important since we just had a bad start to our vacation) and enjoyable.

In some countries, I would have had to pay a “ransom” in that situation, but Mike is honest and reasonable in his pricing.

A safe and considerate driver and a knowledgeable and interesting guide. We were brought around in a brand new vehicle. He pays attention to details as well to make the journey comfortable and enjoyable. It was our good fortune and blessing to have come across Mike and Chauffeur NZ.

We booked with Mike, our driver, through our travel agent after travel problems caused us to miss a train connection. I can't say enough about how gracious and accommodating Mike was to our needs! He took me shopping to get needed clothing since our luggage was delayed and also provided excellent tour guide commentary on the trip to our alpine hotel!

Mike was a joy to work with. We used his services for our wedding day- he transported the bridal party to the ceremony in his Lexus then picked up the bride, groom and family at the end of the reception in his Mercedes van. He was on time, warm, professional and well presented, and the cars were in stunning condition. He was also clear and quick with his communication leading up to the day, and even visited us months beforehand so that we could see the Lexus in person. Great service

Mike was really responsive and helpful in our trip preparation. He provided valuable suggestions based on our needs as well as actual conditions to make sure we can have most memorable journey. Punctual, safe and Friendly

Mike Halliday (owner and driver) was consistently punctual and pleasant, from booking over email and all the way up to the end of the trip. The car was clean, new, and accommodated perfectly for our ski bag (as requested). Mike was extremely friendly, kind and knowledgeable. He offered insightful commentary and conversation throughout the journey and was also a skilled, safe driver. We arrived at our destination in Tekapo (from Christchurch) in no time and, because Mike was also staying the night in Tekapo, he offered pick us up from our accommodation and drive us a drive to our restaurant (that he helped us book) that night free of charge. Certainly would recommend to anyone, it is worth what you pay and Mike will go above and beyond for you. Thanks Mike!
